Escorted Walking In The Indian Himalayas: The Valleys & Flowers Of Lahaul

Trekking in the Unpoilt Miyar Nullah

Escorted Treks In IndiaThe Indian Himalayas offers a wide choice of walking; the Miyar Valley combines magnificent scenery with manageable terrain, moderate altitude, a multitude of flowers and Buddhist culture. The valley is flanked by the soaring peaks of the Great Himalayan Range, offers a chance to see part of the beautiful ‘alpine’ scenery of the Kulu Valley and gives access to the Rhotang Pass (3978m). This trekking route provides the scenery without the tougher physical toil required to walk in the higher more rugged Ladakh and Zanskar Valleys. This is however still ‘high and dry’ mountain scenery; too high to be significantly effected by monsoon rains of lowland India.

Trekking in India

Sherpa’s tried and tested hiking in the Indian Himalayas can be tailored to specific dates throughout the trekking season or you can choose to enjoy your walking in the company of fellow travellers on an escorted group departure. India has some beautiful and spectacular mountain scenery, a fascinating culture and friendly people; some of whom will help you settle into the routine of life on trek.

A typical day on trek, begins with an early morning cuppa, brought to your tent, and a hot substantial breakfast. Walking starts early and you will be ready for lunch by noon. Camp is normally pitched by 4pm giving time to reflect on the day’s walk with afternoon tea and biscuits. Evening meals are hot 3 course affairs making use of fresh food when available.

After this trek, you have the option of including a 4-day tour of the Golden Triangle
