Namaste!
In Nepali it is a greeting meaning hello or welcome, and you are made very
welcome in Nepal. This is a land of great friendliness, with many
different groups of people and groups of mountains. This is the
quintessential trekking landscape outside of the Monsoon season when clear
skies and generally pleasant walking temperatures and conditions, make for
some superb photographic opportunities. The level of service on these
fully supported walks usually supercedes any other trek. Nepalis are
generally so happy to please and eager to assist. There are of course
economic reasons for this you might say, but anyone who has spent some
time with, for example, the Sherpa people of the Khumbu will realize their
canny sense of humour and friendliness. Like every other company, we work
with a Nepali based ground operator, and we believe that ours is just
about the best; with a policy for caring for its staff and looking after
porters.
We offer five different tours
in the country: ‘Nepal Everest Panorama’ and ‘Nepal Annapurna Panorama’
are multi-activity holidays where you
can combine trekking with rafting and wildlife viewing. Short treks in
either the Everest or Annapurna regions and the stay at our resort on the way back to Kathmandu
provides a little relaxation and fabulous views. 'Annapurna Dhaulagiri' is
a fine trek under the towering peaks of both mountain groups with the
plunging Kali Gandaki Gorge in between. ‘Annapurna
Sanctuary’ is a classic trek into the inner bastions of the Annapurna
Cirque. It gets you up to the base camps from where those classic ascents
commenced in the 1950s –1970s. Echoes here from Maurice Herzog to Chris
Bonnington. The views of individual peaks such as Dhalaugiri, Machupuchare
and the Annapurnas are amazing! Talking of base camps brings us to another
classic tour: ‘Everest Base Camp.’ A superb harder trek underneath ‘Sargamatha’
– The Mother Goddess – Mount Everest. If you climb the little peak of
Kala Pattar you will even see the South Col.
‘Namaskaar!’
